Ex-Tabula Rasa

I shall try to define myself in a sentence with a pithy comment at the end:
I'm just an English bloke who lives in Canada after marrying a Canadian lady he met while living in Japan. Yeah, that old cliché.

I posted a couple of weeks ago about being at an Ottawa Senators hockey game in excellent seats behind the penalty box, but I’ve only just got around to uploading the pictures. In case anyone doubts the veracity of my claims, this is how close we were to the back of Chris Neil’s head.
Anyone familiar with the Ottawa Senators will understand that we saw more of this man’s head that anyone else.

I just watched a game of hockey

It was played on the ice like they do in the colonies.

It was very entertaining.

The Ottawa Senators (who were the home team) beat the away team The Calgary Flames by Four Ice Goals to Three Ice Goals, with the winning goal being scored in Ice Overtime. During the first Ice Period the Flames scored all three of their Ice Goals which made the victory in the latter stages all the more entertaining.

The winning Ice Goal was scored in Ice Overtime by the Ottawa captain, a Mister Daniel Alfredsson, who is highly regarded, and it was his 400th Ice Goal, and so there was much rollocking cheer all round. Hats were thrown in a manner entirely not in keeping with the careful attention one should afford one’s headwear.

My companions and I were seating in excellent seats, directly behind the home Ice Penalty Box. On several occasions players were brought into the Ice Penalty Box directly in front of us and we were able to chastise the Ice Players for the poor example that they were making for any children watching.

At one point a man dressed as a lion shot items of branded casual clothing into the crowd using a modified large firearm.
